Miss Linss' Life

My mother was Merriweather Post, the only daughter of the Post cereal family. She was one of the richest women in the world. She was also a good business woman. A wonderful duck dish was served on her ship, she asked where it came from and found out that it was frozen by Charles Birdseye. Although her financier husband, E. F. Hutton, was not for the idea, she had controlling interest in Post, so he purchased Birdseye food and changed the Post company to General Foods. The end result was that the company prospered magnificently, but my parents got divorced. Dad couldn’t handle Mom knowing more about business than him.
